Why We ♥ Salt + Umber: Women-Owned, Fair Trade, Sustainable

All Salt+Umber products are hand-made, with minimal machinery- reducing carbon footprint. Recycled materials are used whenever possible, and their packaging has been reduced by about 25% over their competitors. The artisans that create these unique woven sandals are small, hardworking business women located in rural villages in India.  These women are provided micro-loans which deliver economic empowerment to women. Salt + Umber’s partners are SMETA certified and members of the Sedex Ethical Trading Initiative
