In Sacramento our unhoused and at risk neighbors don’t have the ability to “Shelter in Place”. With the loss of so many essential services due to health concerns, the most vulnerable in our community are coping with the COVID-19 crisis and meeting basic daily living needs. Downtown Streets Team remains committed to enhancing the quality of life for ALL Sacramento community members regardless of their housing status. During this crisis we are continuing to support our Team Members in meeting their basic needs. You can help us by letting your shopping have PURPOSE.

Downtown Streets Team believes that treating people with dignity and empowering them to be a part of the solution to their struggles is a major factor in their ultimate success. Their approach is unique in that they not only challenge Team Members to take an active role in their own recovery but they also empower them to create long-term solutions for their peers.
The program has the inherent public benefit of a cleaner community as Team Members engage in beautification projects such as street cleaning and creek restoration through the Award-Winning Work-First Model. As one of the Team Members has said, what we’re doing is a “win-win-win” scenario: the Team Member wins, the environment wins and the community wins – it doesn’t get much better than that.
