Description

Maelu Designs signature Willow dress checks all the boxes: flowy, feminine and fits right in either at home or on a chic getaway.

The various patterns in this garment have all been individually hand block printed throughout the fabric, making each one completely unique.

  • Fabric: Blockprint Modal
  • Nonwaisted, loose fit. Model is wearing a small.
  • All measurements taken flat, double for full size. All measurements are approximate, +/- a tolerance that is expected with handmade clothing.
  • Due to the handprinted nature of block print, slight color differences and imperfections between fabrics are expected. These differences enhance the beauty of our textiles and are celebrated. Some natural dyes, especially indigo, may bleed and transfer.
  • We recommend washing gently or with like colors in cold water and air drying.
  • Designed in our Portland studio and handmade in India using traditional artisan techniques.

The Story Of Maelu Designs

Maelu is an ethical women’s apparel line designed by Meghna Dave in her Portland studio and handmade in India using traditional artisan techniques such as block printing, hand weaving and screen printing. They focus on sustainable textiles made with natural fibers and vegetable dyes.

Maelu strives to follow a sustainable business model by not only creating naturally made items but by also making responsible business decisions. Maelu directly supports the artisans in India that block-print our fabric and also donates a portion of all profits directly to www.globalfundforwomen.org, a non-profit foundation supporting the advancement of women’s human rights around the world.
