Why We ♥  Volta Atelier: Social Good, Women Owned, Upcycled

VOLTA, in Portuguese, means “to give back”. –  VOLTA ATELIER creates 100% hand-stitched upcycled leather handbags. They carefully select discarded leather from accessories factories and our skilled artisans hand-stitch one-of-a-kind products in Brazil. In partnership with local NGOs, they contribute to the empowerment of women through the capacitation and provision of an income source. The artisans can be women refugees from Haiti living in South Brazil, victims of domestic violence, or former inmates. Our mission is to encourage a circular economy, breathing life back into lost cultural heritage and growing communities from the ground up.
